These squash are not as prolific as other summer squash, but the flavor is superior, sweet and nutty. They need to be picked when small for best results, as the skin toughens as they increase in size. The interesting shape makes it great for kids. |

The fruit is beautiful, but leaves a thick residue on your hands when slicing that dries like glue. |

Insipid, small, and watery. Grown two seasons in different locations both with excellent soil and balanced pH, and squash performed poorly. |

For a small gardener interested in taste, this squash is wonderful: nutty and full of flavor - far more flavor than other summer squash. Well worth the short wait, and slightly less yield. Grown very successfully in Western Montana for past four years. Very, very pretty and interesting squash. |

This is more of a novelty than a production type squash. For me, it is not competitive with other bush scallops including the open pollinated, white bush scallop. Far inferior to Sunburst. It is a great conversation piece tho. |
