| My seed supplier (William Dam) also called this Viroflex. We found this an excellent spinach for overwintering under hoop-houses and getting an early start in the spring. It got going a little earlier than Bloomsdale and perhaps started bolting a little earlier too, but the difference is not more than a couple of days. Like every other spinach we have grown, this started bolting in mid June as the solstice approached. In the meantime, it produced lots of thinner and more flexible leaves than Bloomsdale. The flavour is basically spinach (good!) and the texture is really very lovely. It`s a great spinach for eating raw. |
