| It grows well here, good germination. It does not have good visual appeal ( color, texture) . Taste is mediocre. |

Melody spinach grew great for me in 2010. Bugs love hiding inside the leaves which get more puckered as they mature. The bugs can't be washed out of mature leaves so there is no sense in me growing this variety. It might be OK if it were harvested very immature. |

| We have had trouble getting seeds to germinate at all some years. And, the years they do, it seems they bolt quickly (although we have learned if we pick of the largest leaves first as they come in, bolting is retarded). We have sandy-loam soil, we mulch with hay, and we have "sketchy" sun as we are trying to maintain a garden in the woods (that keeps growing!) |

| Have overwintered this variety with a September seeding for an early spring harvest. Have also seeded 3-4 weeks before spring frost date in double rows at 9". Good yield in 45-50 days. Only minor problem with leaf miners.
