A pretty standard round red.early and relatively consistent in shape. Reliable producer. I like Early Scarlet Globe better in this slot, but Champion is competitive. |

Quick to mature, like Cherry Belle, this variety has slightly bigger tops (good for cooking and helps the plant survive insects) and also seemed to last a little longer in the ground than Cherry Belle. Both matured in 29 days from a May sowing. It would be considerably longer to mature in a March/April or September/October sowing.
Roots from my source were variable in shape from round to spindle (or top) shaped. |

In good conditions will get very large (3" diam) and still be firm but not woody. Have had excellent yeild in both spring and fall. |
