OK taste for a hybrid. Better taste than Celebrity or Jetstar. Fairly good,constant yield and large healthy vines. .Good looking, blemish free .I prefer German Queen and Cherokee Purple for their flavor |

A good tasting hybrid variety. My yields were not outstanding as compared to Old Thyme Tasty, a similar type but more orange red. I still much prefer the flavor of Cherokee Purple. The heat did seem to significantly reduce the crop in my experience. Also, vine strength was not as good as some, a problem during summer storms on the plains. |

Tried to grow this one last year but much of Connecticut and neighboring states were devastated with late blight in 2009. I grew three plants this year. They were fairly tall but manageable. The fruits were a beautiful gorgeous pink, juicy with no blemishes. Very good to excellent flavor reminecent of Brandywine. Tomatoes averaged a little over a pound until mid September when fruit size dropped off but still produced. I averaged thirtytwo per plant. I am very pleased with this tomato and it will be a staple in my garden |

I have tried over a hundred heirloom and hybrid tomato varieties over the years, including many of the Brandywine strains. Most have met with little success in my cool, short season climate in Northern Wisconsin. The Brandywines usually grew into large plants with a few tomatoes that were disease susceptible and weak on flavor.
This year I tried Brandy Boy - the results have been fantastic! The large, potato-leaved plants have been loaded with big, juicy tomatoes that have ripened early and have great flavor. When picked at peak ripeness, they are the best large tomato I have ever eaten.

This was my first year for this variety. I was pleasantly surprised. The taste was as good as the open pollinated Brandywines, but it was much more prolific, and seemed to resist the usual diseases longer into the season. It is thin skinned and easily damaged. It's definitely not a sauce tomato. It needs a sturdy cage.
This year, I did not prune at all, and this variety was the only one to start to ripen in August. It was an experiment that pushed me well back into the pruning camp.
Although I am prejudiced in favor of open pollinated, seed saving, varieties, this is a hybrid that was worth doing. |

This is a very good tasting. The tomatoes themselves are very large, and the vines get very tall. In my 2006 garden, I grew one plant in a self-watering container and one in the ground. The plant in the container ripened about 2 weeks earlier and had better yields, but had a problem with blossom end rot. The plant in the ground did not yield as heavily. Both plants produced excellent-tasting fruit. |

I've grown Brandy Boys now for 3 seasons. The yield is good, the taste is excellent and it is fairly desease resistant. A good slicing tomato. Too juicy for sauce. |

This is another staple in my garden. Production is high even in the hottest days of summer. It developed fruit when the others were gasping for air. The fruit are often not pretty but good sized and delicious. A nice big plant that didn't suffer the disease problems until late in the season. I highly recommend this one. |
