Slow, poor germination in Saratoga County. All died before harvesting. I would rate this 0 stars if I could. |

Good germination, despite late sowing due to cold spring conditions, they produced a very fine crop. Harvested first week in August in order to get next Beet crop in. Really nice color and flavor, great greens too. |

This crop is doing very well. We thinned them in the beginning of the season and re-planted the ones we thinned, creating another row. The re-planted seedlings did wonderfully. We will probably finish harvesting the beets this week - second week of August. Some of the beets were a little small, but most were a good size. |

Definitely superior to Detroit Dark Red. More uniform and earlier. Very sweet taste. Beet tops are good too. I grow beets under row covers to prevent leaf miner which will stunt their growth and make the tops unusable |

Much better than Detroit Dark Red. The primary advantages I noted were improved germination and quicker harvest. |

This beet has been an extremely high-yielding variety in our clay-loam. The roots can go to 3" in diameter and still have superior table and canning qualities. We plant both spring and fall crops and have had consistently good results with both planting times. They have fair over-wintering storage capability: the roots seem to become a bit woody after the end of January after they have been stored in sand since mid-October. |
