"Yardlong bean", vigorous pole habit. 70 days in NE Wisconsin. Probably the best yardlong for the North. Matures quickly, tolerates cooler temperatures, and bears heavily & continuously. Starting as transplants will improve yield & earliness in the North, but can be direct seeded. Flavor & texture are better than some, but not as good as the purple-podded varieties (which mature later). Best picked @ 12-16", before pods begin to show bulges. Can easily be over-cooked; stir fry, or parboil, for best flavor. Dry seed matures very rapidly, and is good for soups; can get both green & dry in same season, just stop picking immature pods 4-6 weeks before frost. Overcrowding in hills of 3-4 every 12" will reduce vines to half-runner habit (good if you don't want to use poles), 12-15" spacing between plants appears optimal for pole habit.
