I bought starts from a local garden center and set them out May in rich soil in a spot that was a little shaded. There were only 4 plants, but I got a total of 3 quarts of sprouts from these, harvested late in November after pinching out the tops in early-September. The sprouts were delicious. There wasa wide range of sizes, some were the size of marbles and others were about 3 times that size. this was my first attempt to grow Brussels Sprouts, so I don\\\'t know if this is typical or not. I would grow them again, but I would provide a sunnier spot. they took no care at all.

The sprouts were varied in size, most being small. I waited to pick them till it was snowing so they tasted great.
