This is a very solid yellow bean, particularly in terms of disease resistance. The taste is not as good as Nugget, in my opinion, and it doesn't can as well, but it's good enough, and I found it to be productive over a longer season than the competition.

I grew this bean last year, it produced longer than any other yellow beans I ever planted before. Maybe it was because the ample moisture we had last year.

This black-seeded bean is suitable for early sowing, but was more tolerant of hot, dry growing conditions than several other yellow varieties planted at the same time. It also seemed healthier than some yellow varieties. However, none of the yellow beans I have tried are as heat-tolerant as the green filet Maxibel or as some of the newer green cultivars bred specifically for heat tolerance (Brio, Matador, Festina, etc.). Color of yellow cultivars was not fully yellow in hot weather (over 100 degrees with cool nights).

This past year was the first time I grew this bean. It was a very good producer ,with very good flavor. If kept picked it will continue to prodcue heavy yields.
