This is a wonderful lettuce! I obtained my seed from Frank Morton at Wild Garden Seed. I planted it early in the spring, very thickly. I just sheared it off with scissors, leaving a plant here and there to mature and continued sheering until I had some full sized (still petite!) plants to eat. This is tasty and sweet. No bitterness to it. Unfortunately, I did not get the opportunity to plant for fall. It was disease free. I had some problems with slugs, which is typical because of living in the Pacific NW. This lettuce appears to be a miniature romaine lettuce, but the leaves are a bit thicker. It still retains the crispness of a romaine.\\r\\nI really enjoyed it and will plant it again. |
