| These tomatoes may be fine for canning, but I prefer Andes or Amish Paste for Canning. Andes, while smaller than Amish Paste, has a better flavor than all of the paste tomatoes I've grown, while the Amish Paste tastes great and is bigger. This tomato, like the Red Zebra, has a skin that is too tough for fresh eating. So, while Red Zebra and Striped Roman look great, they are not such a pleasant eating experience. I also disagree that the flavor is so wonderful. While far better than any hybrid, it's not among the best tasting. |

| Stunningly beautiful market tomato. Excellent cooker/canner because thick skin slips easily with few seeds. Has excellent juicey dense tomato taste. A very good saladette if sliced thin. Some fruits can be medium to large. Dependable yield... needs strong cages or trellis. Superior quality is worth the extra effort. |

| Fruit is exceptionally meaty, and a deep crimson color clear through - very attractive. Outstanding for cooking or drying. Wish the yield were better. |
