| I bought this as May King; I understand they are the same thing. We planted it in the fall to overwinter under a hoophouse, which it did, beautifully. Much better than any other lettuce planted at the same time. I think it goes to seed earlier than some lettuces, but it is early, extraordinarily lovely, and very good tasting with a soft, crisp texture - really good. We will be making this part of our regular lettuce team. |

| The tinge on the lettuce I grew was more of a light maroon than the brown mentioned in the description, and mine were later than 60 days. That may be because I grew it in fall/winter, and it's called MAY Queen for a reason. Nevertheless, it survived light frosts with only a little damage to some of the outer leaves. |
