| Very good long carrot. I tend to harvest these before they reach full size and use them fresh or roasted. These can get very big if left through the season, but are also great as "baby" carrots. |

| My first planting completely failed to come up, but I have grown this carrot successfully twice since then, and come to love it. Needs help to get started in clay soil (I cover the seeds with fine compost and whole bed with burlap until they sprout), but once they get going they are quite hardy and quick to produce. Tasty roots with a strong carrot flavor and a spicy kick, stocky, blunt-pointed and never longer that 6"; strong tops never break when pulled (unlike other varieties). |

| With short growing season, and limited sunlight, I found this variety difficult to sprout. I have tried planting several rows at different times during the growing season without much success. |

| Excellent variety. Plant as soon you can work the soil after the last killing frost. This carrot will do well in raised beds if they are 6 to 8 inchs high. Very tasty canned or pickled. Shows well at the fairs. |
