Excellent parthenocarpic (needing no pollination) variety. Sweet, nutty taste. Resistant to and tolerant of powdery mildew. We grow it all year round in southern California. In the winter (daily highs 65; daily lows, low 40s), Cavili hangs in there, producing slowly but the squash is well worth waiting for. Cavili is more cold resistant than its parthenocarpic sibling, Partenon, which barely survives in January, but does manage to stay alive. Both varieties are sold by Thompson and Morgan. |
