| I planted Mars variety last year and had great success. Big reddish purple onion with good taste. Perfect for sandwiches. I grew mine using a product called the weed free garden blanket. it is a landscape fabric with drip tape built into it. It blocks the weeds and helps me save on water. i would recommend this for anyone who hates weeding |

| Nice sized, very sweet onions that taste great on a sandwich or in a salad. Picked young, they were some of the sweetest green onions I've had. Bright red color made them stand out in the garden and at local fairs. Won Best of Show in Guilford, CT 2009 fair. |

| We grow ours on plastic mulch with drip tape under the plastic. Fertility must be very high to get a large, moist, sweet onion. The poorer the soil, drainage, and amount of sunlight, the poorer quality and size of onion bulb. |

| I start Mars from seed on February 1 in a 3+" deep box and garden soil mixed with peat. cut tops periodically to 4". Plant in spring. A wonderful all around red onion that keeps into January. |
