Quick to germinate. Excellent, sweet beet taste. No zoning rings-solid color. Does well every year. We eat fresh, freeze and pickle (harvard beets). My favorite is fresh buttered beets and Red Cloud's the best!

Mine had a wonderful, sweet flavor. Zoning was minimal. My yields were very good. This may not be the best variety if you like to harvest tops. It does have some of the nicest roots I have ever found.

A very reliable performer but it does not stand out in the crowd. Roughly on par with Ruby Queen. This has not been a great year for growing, being the driest spring since 1930. But Red Cloud did not separate from the crowd in any aspect.
