We grew 5 different types of looseleaf lettuce this year and this was easily the best tasting and one of the best looking. It was very easy to grow. We just planted seeds directly in the garden. The yeilds are very high and you have to thin the small plant to allow space enough for the remaining ones to grow to their best potential (very important). I haven't grown any butterhead etc so I cannot say if this is as good but it is an excellent looseleaf lettuce. We will definately plant again next year. |

I guess this just isn't the best variety in the midwest. I've never seen a seedling make it past the first set of true leaves before being washed away by rain, chopped down by cutworms or meeting some other dismal fate. I still keep trying different places in the garden and am hoping for some success one of these days. |
