I grew Red Medina earlier in a container winter/spring 2006 and it did okay, but the flavor was more on the bitter side like a mesclun variety.
The plants are very attractive with its deep dark red leaves. The plants are very slow to bolt, but as the weather progressed into longer days and 70+ temperatures, the flavor even got more intensley bitter which I find typical with many types of lettuce at that time of year.
Overall it's a good variety for both eating and for show if you are looking to add color somewhere. Definitely worth trying if your preference is for mesclun and gourmet type lettuces. |

Very pretty and very red, but didn't taste as good as I'd expect, I'm not growing it much any more. |
