As noted this is a much darker green cultivar than Tendergreen. It is also a larger more robust plant. Very good flavor. I only plant this type of greens for fall/winter use, so I don\\\\\\\'t know if it tolerates heat any better than Tendergreen, but in the fall it is equally good and more productive.

This is a mild, southern-style mustard of the 'Tendergreen' type, though it was developed by a Japanese company (sometimes seen listed as 'Savannah').
Far superior to 'Tendergreen', especially if grown in the spring. Mustards, including the spicy types typically cooked forever with ham hocks, etc., are usually planted in the fall where I live, but I have also been successful with Savanna in the spring, though it will bolt eventually when the weather gets really hot. Time to harvest is listed as 20 days, though this would be for small leaves. It is worth noting that it is sold by Stokes, a supplier of commercial growers in the Northeast, who would typically sell mustard in bunches when relatively young. Savanna will develop into a pretty big plant with big leaves if grown where it can overwinter.
Savanna has a much darker color than 'Tendergreen', is far more bolt-resistant and maintains good flavor even when temperatures get quite hot (though, don't expect miracles - compare it to others in its class). I find Tendergreen to quickly develop off-flavors in heat. Some "Asian-style" greens are even better than Savanna in heat. |

Did reasonably well as early variety here where spring can be short. |
