A novelty melon that tastes good, grows vigorously, and yield prolifically here. It seems to identical to the White Sugar Lump that I grew in the 60\'s. Here they average 10-15 lbs, have sweet cream colored flesh, which is very tender. It is a thin rind melon, but I have never had a problem with them splitting ( If you want a splitter, try Tastigold) nor have I had trouble with local transport. It is much more durable than Orangeglo. There are better tasting melons, but for uniqueness plus good taste, this one is a standard in my patch.

In 2 years growing this melon, the first the melons were small softball size and the second they would not set on as it was a 90 to 100 plus degree summer. These melons do not like excessive heat, but seem to prefer the 80 degree range. Flavor was a full watermelon flavor and sweet. Rind splits easy, but seed germination was a bit long at 7 days.

Best tasting Watermelon. Plain and simple. It is a bit brittle and thin rind but these white flesh watermelon are absolutely the best.
