I didn't have a lot of luck growing this one, due to it being such a late melon. In our region, the late melons get gobbled up by insects, no matter how much spraying you do. So I pretty much lost the vast majority to insects. What I got was okay, but pulled early to avoid the insects. I've eaten this melon in Spain where it is very popular, and would have to say the melons I ate there were probably the best melons I've ever had! They beat any watermelon, canteloupe, muskmelon or honeydew that I've ever tried. The flavor is somewhat reminiscent of watermelon, but the texture is more like a cantaloupe or honeydew. Flesh is a pale green with some orange at the seed cavity. I just wish it wasn't such a late melon. I may try it again sometime.
