I grew Goldana which is described as a reselected and improved Gold Ball type. It is probably easier to find. The more I grow these the better I like them. They are quite nice cooked, but absolutely delicious raw. They do best for me in a late summer planting to grow in the fall. I also plant them in the spring but it often gets quite hot before they mature and they really do better in somewhat cooler weather. They have been easy and trouble-free to grow, the only problem we have seen is a tendancy to get little maggot damage near the top.
