| 2009 was my first year for this variety, a cool summer. Grew them in 2010 also. These were large and beautiful magenta color. Flavor was excellent, but then I am a potatoholic. Made great french fries fresh from garden, no darkening. This is an early season potato so storage is shorter, no disease in storage.. Very good yields both years. |

| This is one that I will have to trial again. I grew it in 2009 and was not impressed by the results. My neighbor grew it last year and he was sold on it. I have improved my soil since and maybe that is a big important factor with this variety. |

| Just to repeat: very early! Really, earlier than Yukon Gold. I like the purple skin but it is a little blotchy. The bright white flesh is beautiful. Yield was okay but just so-so the second year. |

| Productive variety, more of a waxy type potato which I don't like as much so I rated the taste lower. I understand this is an heirloom variety once part in the caribbean-new england trade somehow, hence the name. It was hard to sell at the farmers market I grew vegetables for. It just doesn't look like potatoes people are used to with its purple blotched skin. It is actually quite beautiful though. Definitely worth growing if you like waxy boiling potatoes. |
