Just a quick note to agree with Ferdzy. Rose Finn Apple is the American name for Pink Fir Apple an old European fingerling variety dating back to around 1850 in France. Synonyms are Rose Fir Apple and Ruby Crescent.

IO noticed this is supposed to be a good keeper, didn\'t keep that well for me, probably worst of all the fingerlings I\'ve grown which is about 15. Sweet, very good taste, Yeild was decent but much lower than the LaRatte which had a bumper crop in the next bed over, Harvesting was the biggest problem, I have heavy clay soil and the knobs tended to break off when digging and cleaning. Did better when I grew it in sandy soil

As far as I can tell, this is Rosa Tannenzapfen, or as I believe it to be more commonly known, Pink Fir Apple. Never heard it called Rose Finn Apple before - must be an American name. At any rate, this is a very attractive little potato. It grows high up and needs to be mulched well to prevent it from getting green spots. I can not say how productive it is; I have only grown it once from very small seed potatos and did not get a great yield as a result. I need to see how this years harvest does from the bigger resulting potatoes. While this is a nice enough potato, ideal for salads being rather waxy, what makes it an absolute stand-out is that it stores for a very long time in good condition. UPDATE: larger seed potatoes do indeed give a better yield - I'd rate the yield as average and quite acceptable.

I am always amazed at the abundant harvest this variety produces. I grew it in my 2009 and 2010 trials and hope to bring it back in 2012. It is one of the most productive fingerlings that I have grown (second to Haida which is similar to Ozette). I love the taste of these fingerlings!

My first experience with fingerlings. Excellent yield...2.5 lbs. produced 40 lbs. Flavor was excellent especially roasted in oven. Kept well also.

My absolute favorite heirloom variety for taste. It has a wonderful texture for eating boiled, fried or whatever. Beautiful pink ring inside the flesh of the potato. I grow this variety every year.
