I really want to like Favorita as a Market Cherry tomato. I have grown it in the field for many years. It has an excellent, full bodied balanced flavor like a full size tomato, a robust growth habit, and a good fruit set and size. It is fairly resistant to cracking and blight problems. It seems to have a smaller leaf so it is easier to pick than other similar types. But, it is an expensive seed from Johnny's, and it has the green or yellow shoulder problem on much of the fruit every year I've grown this otherwise excellent choice. I would highly recommend it for the home grower, but for the Market grower the appearance of yellow tops is a problem for sales. Maybe it does better in the greenhouse?

This cherry is everything a market gardener could hope for.It has excellent disease resistance, holds on the vine and in the punnets without splitting, the taste is excellent and very consistent. I grew this plant in the hothouse along side some Sun Golds,it wasn't quite as vigourous but this was a plus.As the season went on I was more impressed with this plant, the Sun Golds were hardly edible whereas the Favorita still had good saleable flavour. The Sun Golds really irritated me,the best ones are the tastiest tomatoes but they aren't consistent, there is only a small window of perfect picking and the SPLITTING!!!!!!!
