Sun Exposure: 6 to 8 hours per day

Tried this along with other varieties to see if it would mature as stated in the catalogs. It did not for me. I think it is a good variety, just not any earlier than the standard I've used of 80 days. It had nicely shaped, fair taste, and unblemished fruit.

We purchase this variety from the Wal-Mart seed racks where it is labelled as Burpee Select Tomato "Early Harvest Hybrid". (It may also appear on Costco seed racks under that name). In our relatively short 140-day growing season it has outperformed all other varieties we have tried. It responds well to our long summer days and foliar feeding and grows rather tall for a determinate, so it does better caged. Smaller cages may fall over from the weight of the fruit. "Flick" the first blooms to pollinate them until the local bees (honey, bumble, and carpenter) find them. You can shorten its 67-day rating by starting your plants extra early under bright lights and set out large plants in bloom. The 8-oz rating for the fruit is conservative, and we have had many in the one-pound range with bun-sized slices. It yields well until frost. Tasty, smooth, and dependable in our Augusta, Maine area.
