Bull\'s blood was easy to grow in a container requiring very little maintenance. I enjoyed the earthy, sweet flavor of these beets. They produced a decent yield for containers, not great, but not bad. I would still recommend them as a container planting for those without much space.

Most productive of the three that was planted at the same time. Attractive leaves.

Sown May 5, slow to germinate, probably planted a bit late for our area, attractive red foliage, small but tasty beets.

Deep red leaves attract attention. Not the largest beet we've grown, but good germination and nice round roots.

These beets were small but attractive, both the tops and the beets. The beets were a very dark red color, the tops were light green. Used both in salads, leave not very tasty, but the beets were sweet. These were the best of the of three varities that we planted. Like the others, they were slow to germinate and mature, likely due to our cool wet spring.

I found these were striped (lighter and darker red rings) and that the colour did not hold as well in this past year\'s beet relish. Taste was good, but I was hoping for darker red.

The leaves are pretty in our community garden, but are hard and bitter as salad leaves. The beets are pleasant tasting, but are small and grow very slowly. To salvage the crop, we tried sauteing the beets and leaves in olive oil, which produced an interesting sweet-sour-bitter dish, the sort that Italians appreciate. Thinking that wam weather may have hurt the leaves, we'll try them again in cooler weather.

A very tasty beet! Sweet and delicate. Lovely cooked or raw. I grew two varieties last year and this was the more reliable of the two. I will continue to grow this in my garden for years to come.

Superior greens! Great Color accent in the garden. Crop yield is slightly less than Detroit Dark Red, but flavor and texture remain well into the fall season without woodiness. Great Canner.

The leaves are an outstandingly attractive dark maroon color. The roots are quite uniform for an open-pollinated variety. They hold well in the ground without turning woody. I have grown them from several suppliers but they have never been striped, always solid red.
