Disease resistant variety. Resistance to Fusarium wilt race 1 and Verticillium wilt. About 72 days to maturity. Also know as Jetstar F1.

Compact, hardy indeterminate plant. Prolific great tasting tomato. Little to no cracking, nice uniform shape. Not good for canning/sauce (too low acid).

Had no problem with these, but haven't grown a hybrid in several years since I discovered OP and Heirlooms, which taste better.

I would rate this variety higher if it weren't a low acid type. Otherwise I like its' reliability and tolerance to heat. Over the last few years the producers seem to be having trouble with the consistency; lately they are producing fruits with gnarly green shoulders and deep, hard green cores that waste up to a third of the edible tomato.

I've grown these from seeds for a few years now. I tried them initially because I mistakenly thought that "low acid" would make this a sweeter tasting tomato. Its not sweet (just less acid I guess), but the taste is just fine anyway. But what ended up pleasantly suprising me was the large yields, and that the fruit is so pretty. They are all about the same size, they ripen uniformly and there are no cracks whatsoever.

Excellent mid-season tomato for my area. This is by-far one of the best tasting tomatoes anywhere. It products early and over a long season. If you know anything about planting tomatoes Jet Star is a must.

Mom and Dad love this variety.People say you can`t can it.Well they(my parents) have for many years,without any lime or lemon juice.It`s soo uniform in size and quality.Such a great tomato.Seams to be alittle hard to germinate the seeds some years,but all in all a great tomato.

I've grown Jet Stars for a number of years now because the fruit is so standard in size and shape that they are like out of a machine. Have had no problems with them. The taste seems fine to me. Although I've often heard that Jet Stars are a poor canning tomato becuase of low acidity my wife cans them very successfully year after year.

Plants grew to 4 feet and bushy. Stopped growing and put out 25-30 tomatoes per plant. Were about a week or so behind my celebrities. A perfect looking fruit, most of them round mid-large size. Flavor is bland unless you let them go a bit past ripe. Plant was listed as indeterminate but it did not perform that way at all. Grew hard and fast until July and quit growing. When the plant became overloaded with tomatoes it defoliated just like my celebrities. I didn't mind because they are already loaded with tomatoes and they still have a month or more to ripen. A great crop for putting out big numbers of tomatoes but the taste is average at best.

This is my favorite early main season tomato. It is a fine tasting, disease resistant, high yielding tomato.

Reliable producer of medium size tomato. Tolerate heat well but after tasting brandywine i will not grow this plastic tasting tomato again.

Too bland, won't be back in my garden with all the other tomatoes that have taste and good production to choose from. This is not a good canner either because of low acid.

Our first year, starting from mail-order plants. Key to mail-order is to repot them as they grow and harden them as directed before setting in garden. We had no trouble with funguses or wilts or worms; and the yield was great. They do need support and pruning for best results. The ones that fell over and are growing on the mulch appear to be doing OK but they riper better up off the ground.

I've grown these tomatoes in Oregon's Willamette Valley for about 6 years and they are far an away the best main crop tomato I have grown in 30+ years of gardening. Sweet and thin skinned and pretty much problem free.

I like this one. Strong yield and good heat and weather tolerance. This was a high quality fruit, pretty and plump, wiith good if not outstanding flavor.

"Uncle" Dick raised hogs, greens and Jet Star tomatoes. Sold them at the public Market. We weeded and later picked these tomatoes, they were and still are the one tomatoe I can count on come harvest time. I can them and we eat them off the vine. I try several varities every year for fun, but depend on Jet Star for canning. I put in 100 plants and feed give away a lot of tomatoes.

Grew them commercially for 14 years. Very reliable, but very prone to anthracnose where it occurs.

Another of the older varieties that have a time tested (40 or so years in three climate zones of NYS) history of productivity. Easily grown in cone wire supporting "cages", the limited plant and fruit size is easy to keep clean and off the ground. Harder to find as plants in recent years as newer attempts at "bigger is is better" fail.
