I have grown this variety for many years and it has always done great. It is a bit larger than Big Beef and also out yields it . I grow them side by side and as good as Big Beef is, Supersonic always seems to do a little better.

Best tasting tomatoes of the season, good yield on plants, however one plant died part way into season (2007)

I bought one plant to try last year. It took over a 5' high trellis and produced non-stop. Very easy to trellis, but you better have a tall one! We harvested approx. 50 fruit from one plant. Taste was good.

Raised Supersonics in the 60s and 70s. Although determinates are in now, went back to supersonic for blossom rot free tomatoes. SS has always set good looking, crack-free, uniform fruit. If you want a lot of healthy tomatoes in a small space and good taste, this is it.

Here in the northern-most part of New York, this tomato did not fare as well as the cherry tomato variety planted alongside. The crop was slow to ripen, quick to split, and only average in taste profile. Likely will not grow it again here.

Average. For a hybred I prefer Better Boy or Big Beef.

Although the taste is average here in Vermont, the yields are just incredible. Out of 28 different varieties planted last year, Supersonic was much more prolific than even the next most productive. Very thick for sauce too, not watery at all.

This tomatoe is standard and good tasting. I think its selling point to me was it is a heavy producer and keeps on producing up to frost. Definitely worth growing if you only have room for a few varieties.
