The reason for the lower rating is the seed companies lie about what this tomatoe is in being sweet and acidic in some kind of groupie fawning over everything Carolyn Male dumps on the public. Dr. Male is the self proclaimed expert as she wrote a book on tomatoes. Druzba though is allot like Super Sioux in being a rather bland but nice looking, nice sized with good bearing qualities. I had no problems with what the lady in South Carolina had in rotting fruit which probably had to do with heat, nutrients and water. I grew this 2 years and was not impressed as it had medicre flavor like the current Burpee hybrids. There are better heirlooms like an open pollinated Big Boy from Sand Hill Preservation Center.

I have heard many raves over this variety, but that has not been my own personal experience. In my garden, it had a funky aftertaste, and the tomatoes tended to have rotten spots inside. They would look great from the outside, but when cut would be partly to mostly rotten. Could have been an environmental problem, but I was not impressed.
