This is the best flat bean I have found for our hot, dry growing conditions, remaining sweet and tender even when high temperatures climb over 100 degrees (with cool nights). It has been nearly as heat-tolerant as the best varieties bred specifically for heat tolerance (Brio, Matador, Festina, etc.). Do not expect this bean to have "true Romano" character. It is slimmer than the typical Romano bean, sweeter and less "beany" in flavor.
