A very classic bean, with a mild flavour. This grew well and was productive. I prefer pole beans to bush beans as I always struggle to keep the bush beans from being swamped by the grass around them. However, if you want a dry bush bean this is a good one, and the little soldier pattern on the hilum is quite amusing on the dry beans, although it disappears when cooked.

I tried these beans last years and was thoroughly impressed by their ease of growth, and yield. I used a wide row method of planting, and hung the pods to dry in an outbuilding. I have just finished the last of them.
