Grew it in 2011; seed from Johnny\'s. Planted 22 May, germination strong with no gaps, taking 7 days. Tasseling started in 45 days; first silks and obvious pollen at 61 days; 1st harvest at 81 days; too starchy to eat at 89 days. Plants reached about 7 feet tall, with occasional blight on leaves. Most ears bicolored, a few were smaller and all yellow; all tasted the same, and great. Allowed many ears to dry on stalks for later grinding; kernels shelled from cobs easily when fully dry. Would grow again if I wanted O/P sweet corn. |
