I live and garden in Burpee country. Early on, I had huge success with Millionaire seeds from Burpee (and almost everything else), BUT NO MORE. One recent year, their Millionaire seeds produced a totally different variety. Another year, the germination rate was so weak and number of seeds, so small that I had to forego eggplant entirely for that season. Recently I have found that Burpee seeds are grossly overpriced, disappointing and just plain stink. What a shame!

Here in Western Washington near the water eggplant is a serious challenge. It's the middle of August and I'm cooking eggplant tonight because of Millionaire. My Dusky and my Rosita [which after three year trial will never be planted again] have just started to set fruit.Dusky would be my normal 'taste' choice [less skin, more tender flesh] but it is not dependable. If you've trouble getting an eggplant crop this is the one to try.

I've grown Millionaire for three seasons and always had a good crop. We batter and then broil eggplant ( we don't fry it) and we find this to be a delicious variety. It grills very well, too.

This variety did better than expected for me considering I live on the coast and can experience cool, foggy summers. It was a heavy producer and the flavor was excellent. I planted it again this season.

The flavor was excellent, and it was a fairly productive variety; however, it doesn't produce as late in the season as some other varieties.

Great taste without no bitterness. Produces very well in our hot climate. Can be prepared in many ways but our family prefers the pick, peel, slice into rings, dust in cornflour, then deep fry and season while still hot approach. Gratifying to see the eggplant disks rapidly disappear from the papertowel layered pan.
