Grew in composted soil, didn't fertilize, no need for spraying, rarely watered. Abundant tasty crop. My Latino neighbours loved me.

The only hard thing about these is getting the seed - there are so many watered-down versions around these days that just don\'t have the heat and flavour that they should. However, if you can get the real thing, they should be easy, productive and tasty, even here in Ontario where hot peppers don\'t always do very well. They start producing in mid-summer and just keep going until the frost cuts them down. The plants stay reasonably compact. I like to let them get red-ripe and use them for hot pepper jelly, or cut them in half and dry them. Excellent.

Great pepper because you can vary the heat from mild to quite hot by varying how much of the seed and pith you leave in for a recipe. I am able to make mild salsa or really hot.

My choice for hot peppers. They are not searing hot as habanero, etc, but hot enough to please the "hot heads" in my family. yields were outstanding . Good salsa pepper.
