Italian bottle onion. Plants produce 1-pound, 4- to 6-inch by 2- to 3-inch, torpedo-shaped, bronzy-red bulbs with light-red flesh. Used for salads and pickling. Intermediate day length. Poor keeper. Also known as 'Red Torpedo'.

I've only grown this once so far but found it rather unrealible in bulb size and shape as well as not overly vigorous. Still it grew satisfactorily and is worth a second try. |

This is my favorite onion, and an overall favorite that's got to go in the garden each year. Easy to harvest and slice, nice size to work with in the kitchen. Greens are good too. |
