| Super Marmande grows well in Southern California. I\\\\\\\'ve grown Super Marmande for several years. I plant it January 1st indoors and set it outdoors in March. It is cold-tolerant and not deterred by occasional nights with temperatures in the high 30s. It is always the earliest medium-sized tomato to ripen, in May. It is done by mid-July. It is determinate and does not produce a second crop. In my experience, the plant maybe 4 feet tall. When fed and watered well, it has a heavy yield of fluted, 3 to 4.5 inch wide red tomatoes. The tomato flavor is OK, what I expect from a salad tomato. It is fine for tomato sauce also if you boil it down a bit. Even if the plant is killed by blight, you still end up with a lot of tomatoes. |

| A moderate performer here. It is pretty average in every aspect, but it will produce here when many cultivars succumb to the various diseases. |

| This variety has been very dependable for us in our frosty mountain valley. Although I wouldn't describe them as large, we do get many per plant in a variety of growing conditions.
We tie them up but they seem to sprawl anyway. |
