I grew several varieties of garlic last year and this was my least favorite. The cloves were very small, less than an inch long length wise for each clove. They also didn\\\'t store well for me, started breaking bud not long after I harvested them. They were kept in the same room and under the same conditions as my other garlics and none of the others have sprouted, even months later.

I think Roja has a great taste. Ex coated in olive oil and roasted. Very garlicky and hot raw. A very reliable producer, easy to grow, likes organic matter. Heads and bulbs are not in the jumbo class but cloves can easily exceed 1.5" in length. I use a fish emulsion/kelp/seaweed combo foliar spray.

This variety has often been venerated as the best tasting garlic in tastings . I wish I could add my endorsement, but my taste buds are apparently not as sensitive as those of the tasters. A good variety of hard neck to supplement the extra hardy German I grow and better than other hardnecks I've tried.
