Great, unique tomato...always produces a bumper crop of "salad-sized" tomatoes. Very early, with unique, lacy foliage. Determinate, also does well as a container tomato. Taste is tangy and acidic, so if you like sweet tomatoes, this one might not be to your liking.

Actually, this is a rather tasty tomato for us. It is rather early but I have had it produce late and the flavor is a little more concentrated late in the season. It did not produce as much as other varieties due to the heat we have here. The foliage is nice but a little sparse. I will grow these in the garden again this season.

More of an ornamental plant than for taste. Foliage is very unique. Early, good production of 2-4oz, red fruit. Very susceptible to disease.

This was a pretty plant but did not produce or taste very well for me in my Northern VA garden. The taste was bland and the yield was not that great. For the earlys I've tried this plant, Stupice, Siletz, Early Girl, and Matina. Matina was the best for me followed by Stupice. Siletz and Silvery Fir tree were too tart for me and Early Girl was no better (though no worse) than store bought.

There are a few caveats with Silvery Fir Tree. It is very early producing and a beautiful little determinate plant for early tomatoes, but if you grow this a little later in the heat they will taste from something bland to a pretty good flavor. That though is a problem for early tomatoes in none of them measure up to the late varieties. This though is a gem of a tomatoe for small spaces and they make a nice canned whole tomatoe too.

Definitely an attractive plant, and a very early producer of tasty tomatoes. Only Stupice ripened tomatoes before this plant in this first year of growing both. I think Silvery Fir's flavor is not as great as later-season varieties, but it's very good for being one of the earliest to ripen.
