| If you are looking for an easy, HARDY lettuce, this is the one. One of my top-three favorite lettuces.
Little Gem is hard to kill. If you're growing in a small patch without benefit of hoop tunnels or shade cloth or other weather protective items, this one will stand up to it. In fact, it will even tolerate overhead watering better than most lettuces -- something that's not generally a good idea with any lettuce.
This is a very small but fast-growing green romaine. It can be harvested early when it is like spinach, or you can let it grow out to a nice mini-romaine head. I harvest it early and replant.
