Red Burgundy is striking to look at with incredible deep wine tones all through the plant. The fruit was produced quite well, although the larger sizes can become woody. Tender 4" - 6" pods were best, especially sauteed with onions, garlic, and tomatoes. I plan to grow it again.

Germination is slightly more spotty with this red variety, but still very good. Pod production is more than adequate. Don't expect a distinctive taste to these red okra. They taste similar to green okra and even turn green when you cook them. Although if you cook high and only until slightly soft, you can get some red to remain. The novelty of the color is worth the insignificant drop in production.

The main attraction of this cultivar is its color. It has great eye appeal and tastes as good as Clemson spineless. While it grows reasonably well here it is not a prolific producer.

I found this variety to be a rather low producer and not particularly distinctive except for the burgundy color.
