Since I am a cheapskate and like to grow onions from seed rather than pay for sets, I tried this extra early variety with success. Since this variety apparently does not store well, I sliced, lightly blanched and froze them. Combined with peppers and some other veggies they have played an important role in our eating during the winter months. My only problem was an unusually low germination rate on my first batch of seedlings, so I tried again and compensated simply by sowing more seed.
