| If started about a month before setting out early in the spring under a hot cap, I have had huge yields. Direct seeding produces smaller heads in my 120 frost free garden. The taste and storing quality is superb in my opnion. It is also not that bothered by pests and diseases so far. |

| I love this cabbage and find it quite good raw. It is crunchy and nutty in flavour, very dense heads. They vary from newborn to giant's head size and do not seem overly bothered by pests in my garden. Freezes well at least in the short term as we always eat it too fast to say otherwise. Stores well in the fridge. For best growth, I start in April to set out early May (sometimes I start in March and set out in April under cloche) and harvest August to November. |

| Have not grown this one, since the fifties. Nothing mammoth about it, it does have fattened heads that average about 6 lbs. Supposed to be good for pickling, but pretty much a dud for the purposes for which I use cabbage. Not tender enough for raw usage. |
