I love this lettuce. I just wish it were a better producer. I have seen pics of really big heads of emerald oak, but it usually underproduces the other leaf lettuce cultivars that I plant next to it. Beautiful dark green color. Unusual shape to the leaves, not the lacy-frilly kind you get from "oak-leaf" type lettuces. They manage to stay partially upright and avoid mildewing on the ground, which is a big plus. Just wish it grew faster.
