This was planted in the middle of a 3\' bed surrounded by tomatoes and borage so after the first 2 weeks we didn\'t even know it was in there...completely overtaken. Perhaps try again in a dedicated herb garden.

Never got a chance to test this out as the borage and tomatoes overpowered this variety early on.

The basil did not do well in the required plot with the 3 tomatoes, 2 borage and 2 other basil plants. It was quickly overtaken by the tomatoes and died.

This is my first year growing this basil. The variety I grow is called \"Lettuce Leaf\" and I purchased the seeds from \"Grow Italian.com\" The leaves are huge and the flavor is fantastic. Makes great \"lettuce\" for sandwiches. I grow almost everything in containers and have 5 plants of this basil in a 20gallon rope handle tub.

My variety of Large Leaf is Bolloso Napoletano (Naples, Italy). I place this basil in a XL pot by the kitchen door and when I'm cooking step out the door and pick a leaf to cook. These super large leaves make great mini sandwiches or chopped in zucchini fritters. Yum! Love this variety.

I got this from Johnny's and grow it every year. The plants require no care (other than picking off Jap beetles) and grow huge. The leaves do get black spots late in the year, but it should be harvested before then.

I bought a plant about 18 months ago and since then, it's flowered and reseeded three or four times. I've had nearly continuous basil production with little effort.

A very easy-to-grow basil! Vigorous plants produced long into the growing season and needed minimal care. Mine are almost never troubled by pests. They do have a tendency to flower and go to seed, so be sure to pinch the plants back in order to keep them producing. Excellent in pesto, this is one of my favourites. Great taste and smell.

Grew this for a residue trial in 2003. Excellent flavor, very strong, large leaves. Had to cut the basil with sour cream for pesto.
