I've grown this cabbage now for about six years, and for storage, it has worked very well. For storage, after frost, I dig a trench about 1.5 ft deep, line it with straw, place the whole plant with root intact, upside down in the trench, and then cover with a bunch of leaves. I need to mark the trench location with fence posts. The flavor improves (sweetens) through the Winter. If the snow cover is constant they should keep till April, but the outer leaves will look nasty. Start seeds in a seedbed or flat around June 10 and set in the garden around July 10 and harvest after frost.
