I planted these beets both spring and fall last year. The germ was very low. For my 12 ft of row, I got maybe 6 plants to come up. Germ was better in the spring than the fall. After reading up on beets, I now know that I should either soak the seed or crush the seed slightly before planting to raise the germ. The taste was excellent of the ones that grew.
