Disappointed in yield and size compared to other varieties. Taste was good. First tomato I ever had to suffer late blight. Friend had same issues.

I plant this every year--this is the "basic" tomato for all uses. Just medium sized, round tomatoes that show up earlier than some of the giant heritage types I grow (but not as early as Juliet or a cherry tomato). My yields vary, but year in and year out this tomato performs well for me. Of course, I live in Wisconsin!

2009 was our first time for the Wisconsin 55 variety. It did not acheive an average growth with the weather this summer, cooler than normal. Most of our other varieties did average. Production on about 4 Wisconsin plants from 24 was acceptable, the remainder of the Wisconsin plants encountered early blight and had to be removed. The fruit that did ripen was a very fine flavor. We will give them another chance for 2010, as I believe they had potential to shine with our several other varieties if the weather comes in to average conditions.

Very flavorful and fairly early. With a multilocular center, its a true beefsteak although only 5-6 ounces in size.
