This is my favorite tomato flavor. I find this variety to grow well and ripens early along with moscovich. I have not had problems with uneven watering, but use a drip system and wire cages to grow them up in. The color of this tomato turns off my family, but in a family tomato taste off of 12+ varieties it was the winner and they are adjusting......

It's a difficult tomato to grow; does better in large containers using lightweight commercial potting mix since it seems weak regarding disease/insect resistance. It also helps to add moisture control granules since it's very sensitive to over/under watering (rots with too much water, wilts rapidly with too little). What makes it all worth the trouble is the taste of the fresh picked fruit, I've never found a better tasting tomato.

The year I grew this one, it came down with a disease, so my rating may be overly harsh. A healthier specimen might yield more and better tomatoes. The early tomatoes had very little flavor. The later ones were covered in rotten spots, both inside and out and were pretty much inedible. It produced lots of them though, even after it became diseased. It did not seem to pass its malady on to any other varieties, so I think it may have poor disease resistance. Flavor was very bland too. In a better year, it might do better. So take this review with a grain of salt. It's my one and only experience with the variety, and since it was such a bad experience, that may remain the case. I'm in no hurry to try it again.
