I planted one plant that took over a small garden. I planted in soil dressed with compost, 3" layer of cut grass, and a 4" layer of straw. This plant grew to be about 20' long and produced a ~50lb and ~20lb pumpkin. These were for Halloween, so we didn't eat them.
